My work has been influenced by several art movements. Though my style has changed, the heart of my expression has remained fairly constant. People, interpersonal relationships, social consciousness, a deep reverent respect for our earth and the
connectedness of the universe has formed much of what I try to say.
The series, The American Southwest, just finished in early 2002 was a return to my love of landscape.
I use watercolor, pastel or oil in a style that will enhance the process of creativity - in order to say what I want to say.

How to Buy a Painting
Evie Shucart received a BA. in design from the University of Cincinnati in1965 where she studied with Red Grooms. During the late 70's and early 80's her work was shown in many venues including the first National juried "Art Happening" show sponsored
by the West County Artists Association. Also during that period, she was given an award of excellence by the late Sigfried Rheinhart for her watercolors. In the 90's she won an award from Jeremy Strick, now with the Museum of Contemporary art LA. for her piece "Depression".  Her work continues to evolve with her explorations of the landscape and a style unique to her philosophy of universal energy.
Evie's paintings are part of many private and corporate collections in St. Louis as well as California, Virginia, Kentucky, Oregon and Vienna, Austria.
